Someone pretty intelligent once wrote, that if you aren’t interested in yourself, then no one else will be. This very same rule applies when it comes to writing blog posts. I mean if you don’t find the stuff you write to be informative or interesting, what are the chances that someone else will?
So what can I do to make the posts that I write interesting to others? Well for starters, don’t force yourself to write content, the words should come free-flowing to the page (or screen). If the content that you write is forced out, it will most likely sound like that to the reader when they view it.
A second key factor to consider is what are my competitors doing better than me? Do they write in a more entertaining style? Are they involving the viewer more with thought provoking expressions or questions. Whilst plagiarism is unacceptable, borrowing the good stuff from other writers styles is a great way to move forward as a blogger. If there is something a competitor is doing wrong, than try to do the opposite to what they are doing, to really convert their readers to become your readers.
What it all boils down to in the end is if you provide a reason for people to visit your blog, then they will come, otherwise they will go elsewhere. So make sure that you write content that you are happy with and chances are then that others will be too.
